Need help from the SPS keepers

So I just got a frag of green Montipora Digitata for my tank. It's opened up nicely after just a couple of hours, but seems to be putting off a lot of mucous. Is this normal? It seems to be letting it go, but would it help to blow it off? Or should I just wait it out?

Thanks all.

that's normal. SPS slime up when you take them out of the water or they get pissed off. The current in the water should be enough to gently blow it away.

What I figured, but just making sure :D

My flow's good enough and I have it in a good spot so it should clear up soon. Pics coming once it stops sliming

Yep... I agree :yup:

One thing about SPS... the less you handle them, the better!

couldn't agree with that statement more.
They are surprisingly hardy with the right water conditions. We used to "acclimate" them by temperature acclimating them to the same water temps then plucking them out of the shipping container, letting them slime up in the air and placing them in the holding tanks.
I still recomend doing a good drip acclimation though :D
