There's something really unnatural and unnerving about having a running garden hose in your living room! Ya, I'm using tap water right now. There's nowhere local to get reliable water, so I'm going to have to deal with it for another couple of weeks until I can get my RODI system. Actually, I'm kind of hoping for some silicates so I can get a good diatom bloom to get my CUC fat and happy early on after I add them, so I'm not stressed about that.

But because because of the gurgling from the stovepipes, I'm not going to be salting it until probably next weekend when I will have a chance to build the Dursos since I have to shut it off because of the noise.

I am using 1" plumbing throughout. (Trying to remember my reading now...) So since it's gurgling, that means I need to fine-tune the height of the overflow stovepipes (raise the tops a bit) until the water forms laminar flow over the top and "sticks" to the walls of the pipe, yes? Or, alternatively, I should be able to reduce the flow from the returns and DROP the water level to create the same effect?

TIA!
