Maxima Clam Placement in 18" Cube Tank

*Note: I realize the clam can't stay in the 25 forever, he'll go in the 180 when he gets too big for the tank.

Hey all, I have recently gotten a Maxima clam, and was wondering where in the tank I will have to place him. I have the Aqua Illumination Nano LED system over my tank, and was just unsure if he would be able to be kept at the bottom with this LED fixture or if he needs to remain near the top.

That is the question, how good it the lighting system. Although the T. maxima isn't as light demading as the T crocea it still requires intense light so I agree with Lynn keep it on the rockwork since it's a rock boring clam and keep it high up so you know it's getting enough light.

I keep both of mine in the sand 36" below 3 watt Apollo leds at 60% power n they do great.

......something smells fishy.
