Mangroves

Was wondering if anyone is using red mangroves as filtration?

I had a remote refugium with a real dsb and mangroves. It was pretty cool,the shoots grew well. It was like a little remote aquarium. Never really saw any great results thru the whole system though.

Mangroves are something people seem to want to get, but unless you consider that your going to be growing a tree and have that sort of space, having them is not going to do much for your system.

Keep in mind that your mangroves are going to need lighting and space to grow. If your going to set up a large enough system to hold your indoor forest, this could be a great system. However few people can do this.

What would you suggest for a good macro? I've read that some can go sexual and make a mess of the display,I'd like to stay away from those types.
