Magnum 350 Canister Filter Question

I have a new magnum 350, however for some reason it didn't come with instructions on cleaning the filter. Now I know I can do the "trial and error" method but for once in my life, I thought I might ask for help first...lol.

Can someone tell me the best way to shut it down, disconnect, clean and start up again? I am just trying to avoid a mess.

does it have a quick detach wher itr stops the flow?my 304 does.as cleaning i just keep live rock rubble in it

The unfortunate side is it will be a mess the connectors on them are really bad. Dont use the water polisher they clog

There are two shutoff valves on each hose, with a quick detach between them if I remember right (I am out of town right now). The valves are very close together and again as I said, the disconnecting part is between them.

You don't have a filter in it....just small chuncks of live rock? If that is the case, do you ever dump out the "junk"?
