Lucky Fish

Below is a photo of my aquarium filled with Koi. I have always been a fan of this breed after seeing them in Japan. I love their colors and they make the study room livelier.

Aside from these lucky fish of mine I also have a Pomeranian home, he loves to watch them swim from time to time. And there's no need to create a boundary or set up a
dog gate since he never tried to dive into my tank when I am not looking. He is just mesmerized with the fact that these fish are so pretty.

Moving on, I am planning to add a small breed of fish but is not sure which one to get. Any recommendation that you have in mind?

Are you looking to find other fish you can put in with koi or are you looking to set up an additional tank?

Due to the requirement of koi, there are very few other fish that make good tankmates for them. You need fish of a reasonable size that are not aggressive and can take the cooler water temps koi require.

Here are links to a couple of articles I found on the subject (links are offsite) -

Your going to see a few things here. Most of these are ponf fish and they get very large. Also, many of the fish species are not generally available at your LFS, so you are likely to need to shop for them online.
