what do you think of putting a 36" retro over a 48" tank. it would be jumping up my wattage a little, from 3 watts per gallon to 5. the lights are pc's

If you are going with flourescent lighting I would look into VHOs. You could pack quite a bit of wattage under a custom canopy. :turntable

I had PC lighting for years and loved them. Any increase wattage that you can get would be good ... whether it be T-5, VHO, or PC~~~ :)

it would also provide a lower light area for less on non-photosystheic organisms such as gorgonians, shrooms, etc...
