should I run one Kelvin level throughout day or mix it up? I start day at 20k then raise to 12k then 10k around mid day and then back down. I keep UV at 100% though each. I am also considering incorporating a 6500k period for an hour or so around mid day. Any thoughts or opinions on what I have going?

Lighting is a very subjective choice. You can't go too far wrong as long as your meeting the basic needs of your livestock.

I keep things simple. I have my lighting ramp up for an hour, remain at the midday level for 8 hours and have it ramp down fo an hour. I don't bother trying to do special settings to adjust the color temp.

I would avoid a 6500k period unless your keeping a FW planted tank. This is a very warm snd yellow looking light.
