lighting a 180 gallon

does everyone agree i can keep softies and lps anywhere in the tank with 3x150 watt halides???? tank is 180 gallon 6x2x2

You should be fine with that. Sorties don't require much.

the softys would be fine. The more light hungry corals would have to be more twords the center or top as the 150 wont reach all the way to the bottom that well

At 24in tall a nice T5 fixture will grow whatever you want....including sps coral. Just have to play with the height as some color up nice towards the bottom and some would color up better near the top, but for softies and LPS.....150watt MH is PLENTY!
