jelly fish or some thing?

last night i was putting in new coral in my tank, i put my hand in the water left a buch of water on the side of the light. i picked up the light on the wet side and got stung, this was not electric because i was only touching the pastic part. on further inspection i noticed a goo like thing with a long sringgy tenticle or something on it what could this be:bluemad:

I had seen what i thought to be a jelly fish before when i shut my pumps off for cleaning.

Do you have an anemone? Or maybe it could have just been static friction? I dont think you actually feel a shock from a jellyfish because many people dont even realize they have been stung until getting pain afterwards.

it could be a hundred different things. But without pics... impossible to ID.

no anenome, i touched it again and it stung me again, also it felt like when i got stung in costa rica, just on a lesser scale

Jelly fish have a really hard time living in a square tank. Stranger things have happened though.
