I run two TLF reactors tee'd off of my return line, one for GFO pellets, one for carbon. I believe in the benifit of both however I always dreaded the ordeal of rinsing the mediums, especially the carbon.What a mess and if you do it in the lavartory the wife goes on and on about what is this black stain. So here's what I do now and I have to say I do not find myself wanting to put off the job. I just take it outside where I have a water hose, dump out the old medium, rinse the reactors good, put in the new stuff and then force water from the hose through while holding down on the top filter section, the reactor tops are still hooked up to the tubings in the house. This has made one little part of tank maintenance soooooo much easier for me I wanted to share.
