Yeah the crappy stock lens. I hate it. But man are lens expensive!!! Do you have any good recomendations for a replacment??

That's not bad for the stock lens though. I have been looking at the same camera. With the D 250 closeup lens I bet you could get some good macros. Not nearly as good as a true 50 or 200mm macro though.
I have Olympus 35mm with tons of macro and flash, and now it is almost worthless since the digital boom. Sucks.
Can you use non digital lenses on the camera? I think you can. If so look into the vivitar auto focus 100mm macro w/cannon mount. Not too pricey at all and takes great closups down to 1:1.
