Hydor Slim Skim (skimmer)

Anybody heard any recent news on this skimmer? I know they are available in Europe. I would like to purchase one as soon as they are available here in the states.

Here's my take on new products. Even if it looks great, unless it's an emergency, put off buying one for about a year, and wait until you see how others make out with them.

In addition, consider carefully if you really need it. While it may be a good product, it's not work getting if you already have a decent skimmer. True, you might get a little better performance, but it's often at a price that is not justified.

Lastly, make sure replacement part are available. No point in having your skimmer, or any other product, have to be replaced because you can't get that one critical part you need.
