We have our 135G set up and have done a lot of work with it lately with chemistry due to bad information. Now we have Nitrate levels close to 40 - how do we lower our nitrate level????

Thank you!

Water changes will help like kyle said... but you also need to find the cause... do you have bio balls in a sump/trickle filter? If you have a canister filter it needs to be cleaned constantly. Sponges need to be rinsed around once a week.... im sure there are others who will chime in with more information but this should get you in the right direction...

More info on you set up will help us with solving the problem.

Skimmer? Filtration? Fuge? Sump? Lights? Powerheads? how much rock and sand? How ofter are you doing WC? How much/oftern do you feed and what?
What are all of your water test readings?

More than likely it's a matter of water changes, reducing feeding and adding some cheato.
