Here is my response on another forum to a customer who questioned buying the Seneye Homemonitor and emailing the factory and paying $60 to upgrade to the Reef version.
“Why not just buy the reef version as it will be close in cost in the end and the reef version is a better model?.
Well, no actually. The Home and Reef are identical - with all the same capabilities - but with the Home unit they disable the light features before it leaves the factory. Which leaves you without PAR and Kelvin and Lux. When you email the factory - they just electronically enable the light features - and for $149 - shipping included - y0u have a Reef. Just like you purchased the Reef and saved $50 and got free shipping. I don't know about you - but most of our customers care about saving $50.
So for $149 you get temperature and Ammonia and PH and PAR and LUX and Kelvin................. and a bunch of other cool features. Here is a page I wrote about the Reef unit - disregard the price on this page - use the bold link below and save $50.
