How to dose PraziPond Plus?? Help from Lee would be great!

hey all

So I got my small bottle of PPP today and hope someone can help me with dosing it.

Its talking about dosing for ponds 900g plus etc and by weight. Im super lost when it comes to how much I should dose for my tank.

I have 1 small tang
2 cardinal fish
1 bi color blennie

And thats it..

Can anyone help me out? I dont wanna over do this..

Hi Ashr,

Prazi Pond Plus is just Praziquantal.

USE OF PRAZIQUANTEL: It is administered at 23mg per pound of fish, in their normal food. Wait 6 days, then treat again. Verify the 'cure' by observing the faces form/shape. There is no need to move the fish to a quarantine/hospital tank. The fish can be treated wherever it is, so long as you are putting the medication into the food.

You might need to buy a Electric Scale to measure mg. You can probally pick one up at a Pipe Shop.

A scale too? Wow.. this stuff cost me 60.00 in canada and now a scale like that would cost more.. that really sucks lol.

Is there any way I can just eye ball it? i know that sounds bad but I just dont have the cash to go and buy a scale now.. I wanna do this as soon as I can. It would seem even a little pinch of this would do the job..Or am I completely wrong on this end?

I can't answer that. I don't know the affects if you overdose.

I would wait to Lee chimes in.

Maybe you can take it to a near by college or use a scale at Bulk Barn or the Supermarket.

Yeah, I think I will wait lol.
Im doing the math right now.. I just dont have a way to measure it right now.
Since my fish way less then a pound I would need much less then 23mg..hmmm

So I have dosed a little bit two times now. The thing is I dont know how long this should take. He is still pooping the long white/stripped dark poo. I mixxed this in their food for a while and then added it to the tank. I have not done a water change in about a week as well as i was told not to.

any ideas?

According to Lee's directions you dose once every 6 days.

I had give mine a few treatments until I saw results.
