How long for polyps to multiply?

Cause I have one on a live rock that I got as a hitchhiker. Pretty sure it's a green button polyp. It hasn't changed much in a few weeks, except maybe the little tentacles are getting longer. Is it gonna just split in half or something?

The mat or base of the polyp will grow new heads. As for how long, it all depends on how long it takes for the polyp to get comfortable. It could be anywhere from today to next month.
