How Fast Does Xenia Spread

Hey, i was thinking about gettin some xenia (a small stalk) for my 14 gallon bio cube. I already have a hammer, a sun a torch and a frogspawn coral. If i put in some xenia will it rapidy take over my tank? Is there a way to direct it in which way to spread. I hope to have it on my back wall and some of my rock.

Mine seems to double in a month. I have it in the front and keep it separate from the main rock so I can keep it under control. I let it grow on rock rubble so I can sell it off. I heard that if you start it up high in the tank it doesn't spread so bad but I haven't checked that out.

Pom Pom Xenia (Xenia umbellata) seems to spread a little slower than some varieties, it's a poft pink and white color. Xenia elongata is more brownish with cream stripes grows like crazy, mine doubles in size every two weeks or so. They're easy to thin out though, just pull it off the rock or glass and either toss it, sell it, or give it away. Get the umbellata if you can find it.
