Hippo at LFS

I was browsing around my LFS and saw a tank with a bunch of small hippo tangs. The fish look great and seemed well fed with blump bellies. I did notice on two the hippos in there that they had "bumpy" bellies almost like it had swallowed some of the arogonite sand in the tank. Anyone know what that might be?

iI still have mine in a 46g. Hes been there for almost a year now... but when he does out grow that tank i will move him in to my FO system which has plenty of room for it to grow.
Mine also eats until his belly buldges and occasionaly it will take a bite of sand for some odd reason.

be careful when you bring it home...hippos WILL get ich so be prepaired. They are prob the weakest fish out there. You might wanna buy some alicin additive with him (its in garlic) to soak his food in. Also makesure he has a good place to hide because they get scared real easy, they will crawl into holes and wedge themselves in....its pretty funny. Good luck with the hippo if you get it
