I have him in a temporary tank. Just wondering what type of Crab this is and what it eats.

This guy is a Thin Stripe Hermit crab, or Clibanarius vittatus.

They are pretty common on the coast of Texas. In the ocean they typically eat algae off rocks as well as carrion. I once put one in my aquarium and he at absolutely everything he could get is claws on, including sleeping fish and corals.

This species is likely best suited for a solitary aquarium. Not corals nor fish safe.
