They are indeed both elegence....

the one purchased first has settled in the new one probably not so much yet,

However they both seem extremeley healthy....

They can also be in the same Genus yet be a different Species...

Elegence come in various color patterns...

Note: 15 yrs ago these corals were sold as a starter coral and grew EXTREMELY fast.....

It is now considered not so much a hardy coral due in part to their Voracious appetite...

15yrs ago our tanks had less technology and were more dirty which allowed for their dietary needs...

One of my Favorite Corals!!!! May they grow to be mature of many Years:ofr:

Having seen a number of Cataphyllia jardinei (only one species within its own Genus) both on the reefs and in aquariums, I would suggest you provide them with a bit more light intensity and water flow. Your "older" specimen appears to be fading but am not sure if thats just the camera lighting or not. As an example, this is how all the elegant corals that I see on the reefs look.
