I've been thinking about getting a hammer or frog spawn? witch one would be better? do they both sting? i heard hammer corals don't sting? do they>?:help1:

Either, they are both closely related members of the euphyllia genus. They may sting other corals, depends on what they are. Zoas do fine next to them as do other euphyllias (usually anyway), I'd expect them to sting most other LPS or SPS corals.

I have both kinds and the hammer is the more aggressive of the two. In another tank I have a garden of euphyllias - frogspawn, torch and hammer all within reaching distance and they all do well together. However..... putting any of them near mushrooms doesn't work as the mushrooms actually damage the euphyllia type coral. Unbelievable but they do! Make sure there is enough room between them and other species of corals as they do sting them and cause bleaching in sps's... learned the hard way. Good luck!!
