Do you guys see substituting a ARO ballast for the ice cap causing any problem with my 3 bulb candidates?

I don't think you would have any problems with it.
I've never used E ballasts before so I'm not speaking from experience

Here are some of my store stats.......based on last 12 months

sold 12 Ushio bulbs(all wattages) 1 returned
sold 144 XM bulbs (all wattages and temps) 6 returned
sold 235 CoralVue bulbs(all wattages and temps) 27 returned
sold 24 "new style CoralVue bulbs 0 returned
sold 11 Radium bulbs 2 returned

BTW some of the returned bulbs worked fine on our test ballast,
which are magnetic type

sold 19 ARO electronic ballasts 1 returned
sold 37 CoralVue electronic ballasts 1 returned
sold 12 Reef Fanatic Electronic ballasts 0 returned
sold 49 magnetic ballasts( Universal and Advance) 0 returned
sold 4 Ice cap ballasts 2 returned


This is just an overview of product reliability, I sell all the above products, and these are the results.
As far as what I use..... 2 magnetic 250 watt MH ballasts, with one XM 10k and one XM 20k. 2 CoralVue 250 watt electronic ballasts with a CV 250 14k and a Radium 20k. 2 Reef Fanatic 250 watt ballasts with a CoralVue 10k and a XM 20k. Personallly, I have had great luck with all the above products used on my tanks.......
