Fuge Algae

I have a 75 gal fuge under my 180 gal reef tank. I have mangroves, cheta, and several other algaes. Is the brown hairlike algae forming on the glass bad? Take a look at the pict.

I get the samething growing in my fuge, it seems to be harmless, and it comes and goes..

do you have snails in your fuge? i have several

There isn't much you can do about that kind of algae. It grows on the glass in everybody's tank. I let it grow in mine except in the viewing plane. Scrape it off as you would in the DT. I have several snails in my refugiums. I have cerith and astea along with two blue leg crabs.

I have seen snails in my fuge, but nothing that I have added..
