Found a clam/mussel type thing

so i was looking at my tank and this thing appeared out of nowhere. it definitely was not there a week ago. the girlfriend said she noticed it about three days ago and i just noticed it about an hour ago. im sure this thing is harmless but does anyone have any info on it? im positive its alive because it closed when i tried to take the pic. i havent added anything to my tank for quite a while so im guessing this thing can go mobile.

oh and its probably anywhere from 1 to 1 and a half inches long.

Just a harmless filter feeder. I have several and they seem to move but barely. They are just another HH that is really interesting and cool to watch.

any idea what its actual name is? ive seen them in holes in my rock before but never one that was alive. now that i have a live one i wanna read about it. i never would have guessed those things would climb rocks.

just a regulat ol clam huh? i dont know the difference between any clams oysters mussels so im fairly clueless on these critters.

I have a bunch of diffetent mollusk in my reef that came as HH. It's deffinitly a clam.

idk really. its hard to tell. too many of them to go through so i havent really payed any attention to it.
