How do you know if you need a T-5, T-8, or T-12 bulb? I need to replace a single 24" tube, but I just realized that it comes in T-8 and T-12. All I had to worry about when I used PC was whether it was square or straight pins.
t5's are about as thick as a cigar ant t12 and t8 are more like the size of the cardboard tube toilet paper comes on im not too much help but i try lol
T-5 T-8 and T-12 is the diamater of the bulb in 8ths of an inch.... In other words a T5 is 5/8ths of an inch, a T8 is 8/8ths or 1 inch and a T12 is 12/8ths or 1 and 1/2 inch......
T8 and T12 bulbs have the same pin. The T5 has a smaller pin.
The T8 is more energy efficient than the T12... putting out same amount of light, while using less electricity.
You could go with either, but I would go with the T8.
