Feeling Sexy

So, before I moved, I was heading to work, glanced in my tank and went 'Why is all the Caulpurea bright orange'?

A closer look made me realize that it was going sexual! My first thought was 'I've got to get a picture!' So I did. My second thought was 'Why do I have to go to work today' But It was all ok. fortunally only a couple stands were active and the rest of it stayed inactive so it didn't faze the tank.

Here's some pics for your enjoyment and for future reference;

I always thought that you are supposed to remove it if it goes asexual because it's not good for the tank.

Yeah, that's why I was annoyed that I had to go to work. I just didn't have the time to remove it. I just had to hope the the protein skimmer could keep up.

Ah I get it now, at first I thought you were excited about it going asexual.

Well I'll wish you the best...hope everything turns out okay.

great pics! I have read that caulerpa would send out those 'threads' before going sexual but I've never seen them. Thanks!
