Feeding an empty fowlr

I saw the thread that metioned keeping a fish tank fallow for 10 weeks if there was an ich outbreak and that got me thinking about something. I didn't want to hijack that thread so I decided to start a new one. If you truely had a fowlr with no inverts or clean up crew what so ever, would you need to ghost feed that tank to keep the biological filtration going like you would an empty quarantine tank? I'm thinking yes, but I figured I would ask.

Yeah, the bacteria needs a source of food just like anything else. Unless die off from LR would feed them
