Just had the sediment filter housing canister Explode right off the RO unit.

I turned the pump on, turned my back, and Bam! Blew right off the threads, down into the sink .

Unit is catalogs pure flo 2.
I have replaced a canister previously for a crack.
The pump is 2 yearsold. Not sure why it would start blowing things apart now.

Looks like a defective canister. Could also be a clogged RO membrane or a clogged restrictor causing pressure to increase in the stages prior to it. Check all of them.

Wow, I have the same unit (coralife right?)and one can has an ununtraceable leak around the thread area, I think I'm going to just order a new can now, just in case.

And check my Membrane too.

One of the nice things about RO/DI units is that most of them use standard components and you can replace them with parts from other manufacturers. For the carbon and mechanical filters you can sometimes even find parts for them at your local Home Depot or similar store.

@DaveK, I was just about to go to Home Depot.
I have seen whole house RO filters there, think they might use same canister .

That's a big fat Negatron on Home depot having a canister . They do however , have a lot PC drinking water filter sets.
I did get enough tubing to replace from the faucet to the sediment filter.
