Drilling glass UPRIGHT

Just wondering if anyone has ever done it and if there are any special precautions.

I'm drilling 2 holes in the back of the BC29 and am intending to leave the tank upright while I do this so that I can keep the substrate in the tank and not remove it and deal with the associated nightmare.

My "plan" is to line the existing BC29 sump with plastic to catch any glass shards/debris, and then have a hose running on the bit & glass while I drill through it horizontally.

Seeking thoughts/opinions on this...

It's been done - check youtube & search drilling an aquarium. You want someone spraying the bit as you drill. Can also attach a reservoir to the side of the tank to hold water for cooling.

Yep, just saw a couple of videos on it. Never saw an upright video before (but didn't look that hard I guess).

Thanks guys
