I have a frag of "dragon soul" that might be distressed and I need your advice! It's some kind of brain coral I guess but not sure exactly what. When I put it in the tank on 1/15/16 it had vibrant purple ringing the neon green coralites.
Between then and now, the purple has faded, turning a grayish purple. The green is just as neon as ever. And it seems to be growing. Flesh has slowly grown over the skeleton that was cut when it was fragged and I think I even see a new polyp developing.
So should I worry? Should I change something? Here's what it looked like eating a shrimp 6 weeks ago:
Here it is today:
Water parameters measured a couple days ago:
- temp: 78.2 F
- salinity: 1.024 sg
- nitrate: 0
- pH: 8.2
- Ca: 390
- KH: 7.4
- Mg: 1380
Could it be getting too much light? Not enough? I'm running Steve's LEDs at a little over 50%
What do you think?
