They said the offer diff bevels I guess for the edges.. so i can get a small 45 degree bevel on the edge exposed

Wow, that's pricey glass! I'm not sure on the bevel, it would look better, but I have no idea what that would do to the strength of the seam.

Word of caution about this practice from personal experience: Answer the door in this manner too many times, and both UPS and FedEx will both end up just throwing your packages at the front step instead of bothering to knock, or even come close to the doors/windows...
