Derasa? Any clam under 150 HQI in a 180 probably won't make it, 150 really isn't enough for a 180 at all IMO.

How deep is the tank?? I have a huge deresa in my 72 under 6 T-5's growing like crazy and very healthy. If you have some big ledges you could put it higher up in the tank if it is deeper than 24 inches. Good luck.... cool clams!

Sounds like the depth should be just fine. I keep mine on the sand bed and it is growing like crazy. They like good flow that just moves the mantle but nothing real strong or they might stay more closed up. If you can get one over 2 inches they seem to do better I hear. Mine was that big 2 years ago and is now well over 6 inches wide and has grown 3 inches of lip. Very colorful.
