Hi all, I've been cycling my tank since a week ago with a raw shrimp. LR was already stablished in a LFS tank.
After 1 week shrimp does not look any more like a shrimp, very decomposed...
Test results over past 3 days...

Amonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 15

Does cycling is over?

Im not planning to add anything yet but my "old" LR from former 75g tank- This is in a QT tank waiting to cycle to finish, it has a lot of coraline, stars, feathers, and dont want to kill them...

Greetings

Tomorrow I'll add LR from QT to my display and wait until cycling shrimp dissolve, then Im planning to make a 50% WC and add CUC.
How does that sound?

hmmm...

wait a min. water was already really alive? How long was the rock out of the water when you brought it home?

id say you might already be cycled... but i wouldn't go adding anything yet.
remove the remains of the shrimp, add your rock and sit on it a few weeks..

Add the rock, remove the shrimp, wait a day or 2 and test again. The new LR that you put in could possably cause another mini cycle, which is why you should test again.

New LR was out of water (but covered with wet newspaper) about 25 minutes between LFS tank and my tank.
Old LR was in a QT tank for about 1 month with a power head, light and no inhabitant but baby snails, lot of sandsifting stars, etc.
THis momrning I test again, with same results:
Amonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 15

So change my old LR to its new house.
I double check QT tank to move all living critters.

I'll wait at least two weeks to keep testing and in troduce CUC.
