this ugly little guy has been in my tank for a while now, perhaps a few years. I'm never able to get a clear picture as he is always hiding in the rockwork. However he did leave me his molt this morning. I'm thinking this nasty little bugger is bad but wanted some more expert opinions. Here's a pic.

Looks like the molt of a Gorilla Crab, which is not a friendly thing to have. You might want to try and bait him into a trap and get him out of there. Bottle methods often times work with this type of crab, where you stick some food in the bottle and wait for him to go in for a snack and pull the bottle out.

I have tried the bottle method before with no luck. I will start trying again. As far as i know it hasn't ever caused a problem in the tank and i know its been in there a while. But who knows what damage it can cause when it gets bigger.
