Coral Question/comment

I have two differant colored montipora's, one green the other purple. My green one has broken off several pieces and I keep putting the pieces on differnt rocks and it just keeps going. Anyway the other day I was looking at the tank and noticed that one of the green frags that is close to the purple montipora has now become one, the green and purple montipora's have fused together.

Has anyone else seen this before?

Thanks

I think that is very, very odd... and that as soon as I get my tank set up you should quickly remove it from yours and send it to me for further evaluation :invisible

this is common and does happen

one of the corals will eventually win the battle, takes a while

on reefvideos. com there is a vid where the reefer has done this on purpose after seeing it happen, he is doing it with monti cap's if i remember right

I've got a bit of green pocillipora which is fusing with red pocillipora too. I would guess it works better with SPS that are not too aggressive.
