Cleanup Crew with Puffers?

im planning on upgrading my tank to a reef/coral tank and I was wondering if it would be possible to add a different variety of hermet crabs and shrimps. I have read other forums and it stated that adding a cleanup crew would be a bad idea with puffers in my tank

Puffers are going to eat any of the normal cleanup crew members that we typically use in a reef system. They will thank you for that by growing nicely and being in good health.

Regretfully the cleanup crew for a tank with puffers and similar fish is you.

Agree with what Dave said, I used to keep brackish green spot puffers and would feed them snails and they would just crunch them up. Puffers basically have a "beak" made for crunching up all that expensive clean up crew. Can't think of anything off hand that would be fast or resilient enough to evade him.
