Beautiful tank - congratulations!
I just got a 29g BioCube yesterday -- it's still empty. From your experience, how should I set it up? (what do find works best in each of the three back segments?)
Did you upgrade the lighting or the fans?
How much extra flow did you add? I see at least one extra pump in the tank.
thanks
Joe
Thanks , congratulation on your new tank, you'll have fun.
Ok first leave your lighting alone, its fine as it is, i didn't touch the fan nor the lights, if you do upgrade your lighting you gona have heat issues, so don't .
Second , The oceanic pump can be replaced by a Maxi-jet 900 to add more flow and the elbow that connects the tubing and the pump can be replace. I used a larger piece of tubing, check the pic you'll see what i mean.
Inside the tank itself i've put a Koralia Nano to give a different flow: look at the pic. Now thats about just the best mods you can make ; the rest is lost money. Soon i'm getting this.....SR3 Protein Skimmer for Oceanic BioCube, Aquarium Supplies | Pet Solutions for the second chamber.
In the first chamber i've got rid of the bottom panel and put a bag of PHOSLOCK to fight phosphate buildups, in the second i made a refugium( Its not working enough to be useful, so my next protein skimmer is going there. You can do the same AFTER your tank is up and running. Keep the bioballs for now ; i kept mine for 6 months before doing anything with the middle chamber( there is also a grid in the second chamber that can be removed). Now the third chamber where the pump is you can put a bag of Carbon to help clarify and purify your wanter(Change it every month).
