Carbon Packs?

I wanted to get your opinion on if I should use carbon in my 45 gallon aquariums filter system or not? I have several corals and fish and at this point everyone seems to be happy. My filter system is basic and consists of an Aqua Clear 70 power filter. I used the first carbon pack that came with the filter during the cycling process and a couple weeks after that but recently changed it out for a new replacement pack. I have a friend who is using the same filter system but he doesn’t use and has never used carbon in his filter. Is there a benefit to the health of my aquarium family members with using carbon and how often should I be replacing the pack?

Thanks, David :hallo:

I always use a good quality carbon and replace ever 4-6 weeks. Helps keep the water clear and toxin free.

I also use Sea Chems DeNitrate and Phosban along with the Carbon and white floss for water scrubbing and good water perams.
