Can you tell me who is this guy?

Recently I buy a LR to add into my quarantine tang. After 1 day I saw a snail moving around the glass, it about ½ in but all the body cover with hairy like and the head is red color. When I touch it all the hair will go into the shell. What is this, are this snail reef save?

It hard to take picture, because not everyday I can see him, like today the whole day i can't fine. I will try to take picture once i got a change.

I think its a type of cowrie, I have 2 and like them.Steve

some are, and I dont know how to tell the differance, maybe you should segregate them for a while? Steve

I had problems with cowrie going after my soft corals, so I had to remove them and return them to my LFS. But I think it depends on the type of cowrie. You should take a look at some of the pictures HERE and maybe try some of the other snail links there as well. Hope this helps & good luck

I think tiger cowrie, the shell color is almost same.

I had a tiger cowrie and it munched my sun coral. Back to the LFS it went.
