I bought my first Blue Spot a month ago and threes days after I had bought him he jumpped into my overflow box and went through the tube to the outside box which feeds my Fuge and, jumped out of the box and became an expensive crispy critter.
I bought another and he just didn't have the color and would not burrow like my first one did. He gasped perfusely for two days sitting ontop of the substrate and than started to look better. He started eating good and burrowed. Last Thurday I noticed he was laboring to breathe again and I found him dead last night.
They are one of my favorate fish, but I thinkI am done.
I checked my water, Phos=0, nitrites=0, nitrates=.5, KH= cant remember but was in the good range. PH=8.3, temp=78
