I have a 24 gallon aquapod .Any light upgrades for it . or would building a canopy be the way to go.

If you don't buy the lighting upgrade offered above you could always check out NanoTuners.com They have a wide variety of lighting upgrades for nano sized tanks. I was thinking of doing the same (Aquapod 24g) but didn't have the $$$$ yet. It would at least give you some ideas of what is possible within the hood you have.
I did the 72w PC upgrade on my nano cube (from nanotuners) but ended up removing the hood and going with a current sunpod 150 MH pendant after a year or so

Tere is a nice 250 clip-on that I was thinking about getting for my 24, but the 70 fixture is working fine and I can even propagate my xenia in it. That says a lot.

I should have stated, that my Aquapod is only really being used as a fuge so the light requirements are not very demanding
