apastasia in my sump

I have read that apastasia, while annoying are great water cleaners. I have a rather large one that i am watching in my sump, was wondering what everyone thought/knew about doing this.

It is on one rock right now so it would be easy to remove. I am thinking about putting some filters on the sump return and shredding it forcing the rebirth of lots of them.

I know it is probably a bad Idea right?

All I know about aptaisia is what I have read. And I haven't read anything good about it. But, I've never had it. I think you answered your question and you shoud listen to your own answer. So, after having said that, if you want aptaisia, then, go for it. To each his own. Different strokes for different folks.

But not in my tank.

i would not restrict your return. it could clog and the sump could overflow, or your pump could run dry causing it damage,,,
