Anyone seen this type of algae before?
Doesn't seem to be spreading or anything, but it's the first kind to grow other than coralline. The fish and cleanup crew seem to eat everything else.
I don't think it is. It doesn't look like it's being chewed on.
Never seen any kind of leaves either.
It looks like branching chaetomorph with a central stem attached to the rock.
None of my tank inhabitants seem to ever pick at it.
But it doesn't seem feathered like the pictures of bryopsis I've seen. That was my first thought.
What is that kind? Need to see the trunk.
A Blue Tux. Megan had this little rock with that type of algea in her nano. When we put the urchin in her 40 gllon I wanted to see if it would eat so I put the rock and algea in the tank. He has been going to work.
You were right the first time I think, a cheato. Look at the "stems". They are bead like, which cheato's are and Clads really are not. Still need a better pic.
