TBH, I was looking to avoid valves entirely. I have done this in the past and found that I was frustrated by weekly/daily tweaks to the angle of the handle. I was going to set both drains in either corner at the same elevation. The goal is to have them drain at the same rate. Noise can be vented to another room, and since I plan to only have 2 creatures at max, a total disaster would clog both of my drains AND flood my floor (both critters dead/one in each overflow).
I am quite familiar with PVC and the noise pollution it creates. I am licensed to plumb, and so I grew to hate pvc.....I just have to eject the gurgle elsewhere.
