Hi Friends,
I have a quick question for you on Antler corals, basically a friend of mine went and bought an Antler coral however it immediately started bleaching in his aquarium which is quite new only 2 months old and it powered by just 2 T5 bulbs.

Anyway he asked me to place it in my tank which has been running for 3 years now and has MH on it, I tried to search on the net for information and requirements of this coral but I was unable to find anything concrete. Can you tell me where is the best place to place it current requirements lights etc.

thanks a zillion.

Common names like antler coral make it hard to identify corals sometimes. try and give the scientific name if you know it our post a picture. i know of TWO antler corals one in the Pocilloporidae family and one in the Acroporidae
family.

from what i can find on both they need high lighting and moderate to high flow.

THESE are the two antler corals i could find try lookin up their scientific names.

someone else will come along and help you more if they can, but i cannot sorry.
Staghorn Coral (Acropora sp.)
Pocillopora eydouxi (Antler Coral)

ALSO how was the coral acclimated to the new lighting?

I agree it appears to be a Montipora {undata ?}
It doesn't require intense lighting but if properly acclimated can adjust and thrive.
