Hi guys

I am looking to add some of the more hardy anthia species to my tank. I have read that they should be kept in harems of one male and several females. Now is several 3, 5 or above?

The types Im looking at

Carberryi Anthias (Nemanthias carberryi)
and
Maldives Lyretail Anthias (Pseudanthias squamipinnis)

thanks in advance

I had Bartlets anthias and it did a 3-1 ratio, female to male. I think you need at least 2 females and I've seen up to 8-9 of them "supported" by 1 male.

They require frequent feedings and from my understanding a mature tank that produces a lot of plankton is best.

Thanks PSU4ME

I was thinking of doing 1:3 ratio.....(1 male :3 females)

I think my tank is mature enough to support a small harem.

Cool man, it is great to watch them swim into the current and "pick" random things out. Unless you are home all the time an automatic would be a great Idea.
