Alternative to Bubble Magus 5 - Rock Sp1000 pump

Hello All,

I have a Bubble Magus 5 Protien Skimmer, and the pump is dead or dying. I am looking for an alternative model to use as a replacement. while it's possible to find A direct replacement, it certainly wasn't easy.

I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a mainstream product that I can easily locate that would be a feasible replacement. I just dread tracking down the next one after this one dies.

Skimmer design, especially with a pump located inside the skimmer is a rather tricky design. I think I'd go with a direct replacement, if at all possible.

Now if someone posts and says they used a specific replacement pump, and the skimmer works as well as ever, then maybe go with the pump they used.
