Algae Attack 4: Minty

The past attacks have been contained.

The new spots I'm noticing are a 'minty green'.

Different than the other stuff.

I think...maybe...this is 'good' algae?

Grows, so far, only on dead and live rock.

Anyone?

Keep up the good work..you'll beat the algae!! Keep your nitrAtes low (less than 10 ppm), keep removing as much algae as you can (don't just brush it off), use a phosphate sponge, don't let your PC or VHO bulbs get older than 8-9 mo (I notice algae blooms when mine get 8 mo old) and be sure to soak all carbon in ro/di for a day or two prior to using it.

Ro/di water is so pure that it actually attracts po4. By soaking then rinsing your new carbon in it prior to use, you will significantly reduce the amount of po4 that the carbon will release into your aquarium. This 'soaking' is also recommended for all foods :)
