Abs board

Does anyone have abs board on the bottom of their bare bottom tank? If so what thickness did you use?

The only reason I can think of for doing this is because you want to protect the bottom glass, in case a rock or coral falls in to it. I've never used it in any of my tanks,, but I'd think something 1/8 to 14 inch would be fine.
